Corkscrew Cafe - The Corkscrew Café promises great food and local wines in beautiful Carmel Valley. Early Monterey and Mission style influences the interior design as well as the garden patios. The daily menu reflects the use of fresh herbs and seasonal produce from our large gardens, paired with local fish and meats.

Georis Winery - The Georis Winery was established in 1981. Since the first day, our commitment has been to produce well crafted "Estate" Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon wines of superior quality. Our wines reflect a St. Emilion and Pomerol influence. They are aged 18 months in Bordeaux chateau barrels and then held back for an additional year in bottles, prior to their release. Georis Wines are full bodied, dark ruby in color with esters of vanilla, chocolate and violets. Our wines are extremely elegant, drinkable at release with the potential of aging twenty years.

Each piece is a visual statement about a specific problem confronting him as a painter: The exploration of the relationship between representational and abstract expression, the interplay of the conscious and the subconscious in the painting process, the visual energy released by the juxtaposition of opposites. Walter Georis' paintings are thus part of a larger and ever developing self portrait.

The Hilton Bialek Biological Sciences Habitat at Carmel Middle School is one of the most unique environmental education centers in the nation. The Habitat offers exciting outdoor learning experiences to students from the Carmel Unified School District and to the youth of underserved communities throughout Monterey County. These lessons teach content, enhance decision-making skills, and motivate children to care about the environmental issues facing our community and the globe.

Van Gogh's Table - Intrigued after reading Van Gogh's Table (the cook book), Walter took the family on a train ride 22 miles north west of Paris to have lunch at the Auberge Ravoux in Auvers-Sur-Oise, a small but well known artist's village. Vincent van Gogh spent the final seventy days of his life boarding at the Auberge where he painted the picturesque countryside, the church at Auvers, the well known portrait of his friend Dr. Gachet, and Adelaine Ravoux. Walter and Dominique Janssens, the owner of the Auberge Ravoux and Maison de van Gogh, met and became great friends over a six hour lunch at Café Beaujolais on the left bank. As a symbol of their new friendship, Dominique honored Walter by sending him the table at which Vincent van Gogh enjoyed his meals at the Auberge Ravoux.

Tri-Surf Records - A legend of the California surf-rock instrumental scene of the mid ‘60s, The Sandals have kept their legacy alive thanks to a number of home grown releases on their own Tri-Surf Records label based out in Carmel, California. Way back in 1964, the band—featuring founding members Walter Georis (guitar, voice), John Blakeley (guitar, mandolin) and Gaston Georis (keyboards)—recorded their influential soundtrack for the Bruce Brown surf movie classic, The Endless Summer. The perennial popularity of that movie classic gave the group a renewed spirit and since their reformation in the mid ‘90s, The Sandals have released a number of classic instrumental guitar albums including a rerecording of their original Endless Summer soundtrack. In 1995, The Sandals released an acoustic-flavored guitar album entitled Milagro and, in 2002, The Sandals follow-up the sound of Milagro with their latest CD Silvertone. The mostly instrumental 70+ minute Silvertone CD blends a wealth of sublime acoustic and electric guitar work with flavorings like Spanish, African and French Bayou folk melodies while also adding in a couple of vocals. Featuring contributions from several fine side players, Silvertone is a different, yet equally fascinating side of a guitar band that helped shape the sound of surf-rock back in the ‘60s.

Tri-Surf also features music by the Sandals talented sons: Max Georis has just released his first CD “Infinity”.� Nico Georis has several CD’s to his credit: “Nico & Rushad”,� “This and That”, “Palo Colorado” and “Curious Anthems”.� Samples files are available at the Tri-Surf website.
